At the End of the Day...

At the end of the day, that is the time for reflection; hopefully, we have acted with valor, integrity, and honour.

Christ in Christmas

It just occurred to me that lately, I have been thinking off and on about a problem. The problem is that someone seems to be trying to remove the Christ or the Christmas from the holiday season. But who is the true culprit? I have read articles and listened to people arguing the reasons behind the action. I have come to the conclusion that it is not the liberal media that is the true culprit; the true culprit is we the people. We have acquiesced without even being pressured. We are so acclimated to giving in on matters of political correctness that we gave up without fighting a battle. How tragic. How sad. We chose to celebrate the birth of the King. We were not ordered to celebrate this day; we chose to as a people called Christians. We founded this country and established traditions. Now, we are being taken over. All our universities have been taken over by the liberal element. Our public schools have been taken over by the liberal element. Our governments and media have been taken over by the liberal element in our society. They have done this by telling us that by believing we are not thoughtful; by choosing God, we are not independent; by following the dictates of Scripture, we are not tolerant; by accepting the Sovereignty of God, we are not sophisticated. Yet, those are the very precepts by which this great nation was founded. We started those universities, schools, and governments. My advice is to tell all Christians that they must stand on the precepts of Christianity that made this country and the history, of all those who have believed God and enjoyed a relationship with Him, great! Remember that Christ is the reason for the season, and if the liberal heathen does not want to observe our holiday, they have the choice not observe it. We do not observe the religious holidays of other religious groups; we do not try to dictate how they celebrate them and which greeting they use to express themselves during their holiday seasons. So stop caving. Be proud of who you are and where you came from. Remember those who have gone before you. Be mighty men and women of God and stand firm. Remember that our God is bigger than even giants!

In the News

Yesterday, the President addressed the nation. Those that like him, liked his speech and those that do not, did not like his speech. I can certainly understand those sentiments. However, in reality, whether we like President Bush or not, can we really advocate simply pulling our troops out of Iraq? We have done that more than once in the past and have lost credibility with other nations. In all good conscience, we must finish what we have started, otherwise, the end will be worse than the beginning. Like it or not, we are committed until the job is done and the people of Iraq are somewhat secure in their chosen type of government. Only then can we think of pulling out.
Additionally, we can say we support the troops, but when we start protesting the war, we end up doing exactly the same thing that was done to the soldiers of the Vietnam war. Just because we say we support the troops does not mitigate what we are doing by protesting the war. If we support the troops, then we support what they are doing. We show our support by letting them know that we agree that they are doing the right thing. They are doing the noble thing. And by the way, in case we do not know what that noble thing is, it is the fact that they are putting their lives on the line to bring freedom to an oppressed people. There comes a time, in the course of human events, when we must decide that there are things larger than our political parties; and realizing that, we must unite as one for the greater good. War and killing are harsh realities of human struggles, and I do not know one person who is ever for them. But I do know that there are times when there is no other recourse but to go to war; and, I also know that once we have committed ourselves to war, we must not retreat because of weariness or boredom. If we do then all the sacrifice up to that point is for naught. All the deaths end up being in vain. That is like telling our soldiers that they died in vain because their purpose was unjust. Is it really unjust, or are we simply taking up the party line, and supporting or refusing to support, based upon whether we are Democrats or Republicans? When we do this then we are acting without really thinking. We are simply following. Let us stop and think, as individuals, what is best for our nation, and act together.
